West Hendon Pre-School exists for the benefit of all pre-school children between the ages of 2 and 5 years and our aim is to educate the children through free play and supervised activities. The pre-school is also a great environment for social interaction amongst the children, and children with special needs have the opportunity of integrating with their more able peers.

Non-emergency lateness of more than five minutes will be charged at a rate of £5.00 per 10 minutes.
Fees: £6.00 per hour for two to three years old. £5.50 per hour for three to four years old. Payment should be made weekly, monthly or termly in advance. As our expenses do not alter, we regret that days off due to illness or holiday must be paid for. If a child is absent for more than one week without notification, we must assume that the place is no longer required.
Snack Time: We ask for £2 per week contribution to purchase healthy snacks for the children. For children who come only two days is £1 per week – a variety of fruit and vegetables are offered every day as well as milk and water. Additionally we have a weekly cooking activity where the children will have things other than fruit and veg, please let us know if your child has any allergies or for religious reasons cannot have certain foods.
Notice: If you want to withdraw your child from the pre-school please inform us in writing, giving a month notice. If you fail to do this you will still be charged at the same rate until the notice period has ceased.
Tissues: Lots of children together usually equal lots of runny noses! We therefore ask if you could contribute one box of tissues every term.
Illness: Children having antibiotics should not attend the pre-school for the first 48 hours of the course. It is advisable that your child does not attend pre-school if they have had sickness or diarrhea in the past 48 hours. Children with contagious illnesses like chickenpox etc must not attend the pre-school until it is alright by your doctor to do so. Please notify the pre-school in any event.
Clothing: Our uniform is navy blue jogging bottoms, a red sweatshirt, polo shirt (any colour) and trainers (suitable for running &climbing). They are available in major supermarkets, Matalan or Primark. Please also bring in a change of clothes in a named bag which must be taken home every day because we share the hall facilities.
Personal Property:Please do not allow your child to bring in sweets, toys, money etc from home into the pre-school as this causes distress to other children. Exceptional circumstances can be arranged at the staff’s discretion.
Meetings: Your views are all greatly valued. We need ideas regarding regular fundraising, meetings of patents/carers occur periodically to decide on such fundraising or regarding events like parties, outings or to discuss the general running of the group. The pre-school is a committee run setting and all parents automatically become members when their child starts attending. It is therefore important that everyone attend and is involved.
Rota: Parents must participate in our rota system where each parent/carer attends the setting for a session every few weeks. Most parents in the past have found this a welcome break from their usual routine and it also gives the parents the opportunity to get to know the staff and the pre-school better. We regard parent participation with great importance, not only for the extra help, but also for the child’s benefit. We get the opportunity to talk to you about your child and you get the opportunity to play with your child in a different environment to home and to find out more about your child’s day.
The rota is an important part of the pre-school and you will find the rota list situated on the notice board. We do appreciate that there may sometimes be difficulties with carrying out rota duty so please discuss these with the staff as soon as possible.
If you have any queries with any of the above, please do not hesitate to speak to a member of staff.
